DESCRIPTION:Passion\, Purpose\, Place: Making a Difference Where You Are\n\nParticipation on non-profit boards and in other volunteer opportunities are great ways to build leadership experience\, additional skills\, and expertise outside of the office. It is also a great opportunity to put your passion for a particular charitable cause into practice! But along with passion must come a clear understanding of roles\, responsibilities and duties of a board member to ensure your nonprofit organization is fulfilling its mission fully. This session is designed to introduce you to the roles of nonprofits and their boards and provide an overview of the four basics of being an effective board member.
