SUMMARY:August Virtual Membership Luncheon
DESCRIPTION:Join the West Des Moines Chamber community and region at large for our monthly luncheon featuring Liz Matney and Joel Anderson. Liz is the Health Policy Advisor and Joel is the Tax/Economic Policy Advisor for the Office of Governor Kim Reynolds and Lieutenant Governor Adam Gregg. Liz started in her role June of 2019. Liz's duties in this role are to help support and oversee several state agencies including the Department of Human Services\, Department of Public Health and the Iowa Insurance Division among many additional responsibilities. \n\n \n\nDuring the COVID-19 pandemic\, Liz and her team quickly pivoted to meet the needs of Iowans. She led the statewide nursing facility efforts to help keep the elderly community safe. Quick thinking led to partnerships with the Iowa National Guard\, Iowa Department of Public Health among others. Iowa had better outcomes when compared to other states due the implementation of strategies and safety measures she put into place. \n\n \n\nWe hope you can join us to learn more about Liz and her team's story and how the State of Iowa is navigating health for Iowan's for the future. \n\n \n\nIf you have questions for this event during the Q & A portion of the program\, please submit them to baillee@wdmchamber.org by 5 p.m. on August 10.
