Attorneys Clark Butler and Riley Coy recently joined Dentons Davis Brown
Clark J. Butler is an associate in the Litigation Division, assisting in a number of general litigation areas, including divorce and family law, real estate litigation, labor and employment, and commercial litigation. Before joining Dentons, Clark practiced at Whitfield and Eddy Law.

Clark earned his JD from Drake Law University in 2021 and a history and biology degree in 2018 from Dakota Wesleyan University.
During law school, Clark co-authored appellate briefs and was published as a co-author both in the American Bar Association’s Fidelity and Surety Law section as well as the Iowa Defense Counsel Association’s quarterly update. He also developed a practice in family law and children’s rights as a student attorney with the Drake Children’s Rights Clinic. Clark co-authored a winning appellate brief with the supervising attorney and gained trial experience through his examination of witnesses and co-chairing of cases.
Riley W. Coy advises business owners and real estate investors with legal issues surrounding corporate matters, transactions, mergers and acquisitions, contracts, real estate, and financing. Clients appreciate the results-driven and cost-effective approach Riley utilizes. Before joining Dentons, Riley practiced at Grefe & Sidney, P.L.C. as a litigator.

Riley earned his JD and MBA from the University of Missouri and a bachelor’s degree in finance from Drake University. While at Mizzou, Riley worked as a student attorney and entrepreneurial scholar to serve start-up companies progress from initial concept to funding and beyond.
Before working in private practice, Riley worked as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Stephanie Rose of the U.S. District Court in the Southern District of Iowa.
