WDM CHAMBER ANNOUNCES DATE, KEYNOTE SPEAKER FOR ANNUAL BREAKFAST CELEBRATING FIRST RESPONDERS

WEST DES MONES, IA (AUGUST 9, 2022) – The West Des Moines Chamber of Commerce (WDM Chamber) will host their annual First Responders Appreciation Breakfast, presented by West Bank and supported by ESO, Farmers State Bank, and Scheels on Wednesday, September 14. The breakfast will be held at the West Des Moines Hilton Garden Inn.

The WDM Chamber is honored to announce that this year’s event will be keynoted by Elizabeth McCormick. Congressional Veteran Commendation recipient, Elizabeth McCormick travels the globe as a professional speaker, providing dynamic opening and closing keynotes at conferences, conventions, association meetings and corporate events worldwide. With her unique messages, Elizabeth takes the challenges faced as a Black Hawk Helicopter pilot and Chief Warrant Officer for the United States Army and shares empowering, uplifting stories with relatable and actionable lessons.

“We are so excited to announce Elizabeth McCormick as our keynote speaker for this tremendously exciting event,” said WDM Chamber President and CEO Katherine Harrington. “Elizabeth will knock your socks off with her real stories of inspiration and overcoming obstacles. This is one of our important signature events of the year and we can’t wait to provide a giant dose of positivity for our members and region."

“I’m honored to be speaking to our first responders who show up every day with their selfless spirit,” said McCormick. “I have so much respect for all the men and women who currently serve or have served your community and our country. Let’s all be there for them and learn to fly with me.”

The First Responders Appreciation Breakfast is held each year to honor all West Des Moines First Responders and their families. This event is an opportunity for residents and the business community to ensure these men and women receive the recognition they deserve.

“West Bank is proud to sponsor the First Responders breakfast again this year,” said West Bank Chairman and CEO Dave Nelson. “As a community bank, we know the importance of honoring the men and women who protect and serve our community.”

Registration is now open on the WDM Chamber’s website. With the purchase of a ticket, there is also an option to buy a seat for a first responder, who are invited to attend this event free of charge. 10% of proceeds from registration will be given to the West Des Moines Public Safety Cadets.
