WDM Chamber Hires Everett Mullican as Marketing and Communications Coordinator

WEST DES MONES, IA (TUESDAY, MAY 16, 2023) – The West Des Moines Chamber of Commerce (WDM Chamber) has announced the hiring of Everett Mullican as the organization’s marketing and communications coordinator. Mullican currently serves as a workforce intern with the chamber and recently graduated from Drake University with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Mass Communication. His first day with the Chamber will be Thursday, May 18, 2023.

“As the West Des Moines Chamber continues to grow, it is crucial that our team continues to expand,” said WDM Chamber President and CEO, Katherine Harrington. “Everett brings the skills necessary to uniquely tell the stories of our city and members so that we can continue to position our city as the best place in America to live, work, and play.”

Mullican is a West Des Moines native and attended Valley High School before furthering his education at Drake University in Des Moines. While at Drake, he served as President, PR Officer, Educator, and Philanthropy Chair for the Iowa Delta chapter of Phi Delta Theta International Fraternity. Mullican also served as Secretary for the Public Relations Student Society of America, and Marketing Chair for the Drake Weightlifting & Fitness Club. In addition, Mullican was recognized as the 2023 PR Student of the Year award by Drake’s School of Journalism and Mass Communication. 

“I’m filled with the excitement and joy to have the opportunity to be part of such an amazing team and an outstanding organization,” said Mullican. “I can't wait to begin this journey knowing I’ll have a wonderful team to guide me toward success and work toward the common purpose. I look forward to all the amazing things we do.”
