Greater Des Moines is returning to its river roots. By reimagining the region?s 150 miles of rivers and creeks as recreational corridors, including the creation of an adventure park on the Des Moines River in downtown Des Moines, the region is expanding recreational opportunities for residents and visitors. Regional leaders see water trails as one of the most significant quality-of-life projects of our generation, fueling economic development, helping attract and retain a workforce, and giving economic incentive to improving water quality.
