Patient Care Navigator
ob Details
Description
DMOS is seeking a helpful, professional individual to provide support for peer patient care navigators. Patient care navigators act as gate keepers to surgery scheduling & patient inquiries in an array of orthopedic specialties. You will be trained to help guide patients thru the patient journey. The full-time position works out of the Des Moines office and provides support to other DMOS metro offices (Urbandale, West Des Moines and Ankeny), potentially for extended periods of time depending on coverage. They obtain the required information prior to a patient's scheduled surgery and/or procedures, diagnostic tests, therapy referrals, schedule return appointments and maintain physician surgery logs. Clinical hours Monday thru Friday.
PERKS: A place where you can excel in your area of expertise. Generous levels of time off, including 6 paid Holidays, allow our staff a work-life balance. Continual evaluation of compensation, health, dental and vision insurance to be competitive. Employer sponsored term life insurance for employees. Meet your retirement goals with our employer match 401k and profit sharing.
Do I want this job? You will be primarily working in our West Des Moines location but flexible to potentially cover other locations in the metro if needed. You will have conversations with strangers who may be in pain and need help. You are an organized individual who can maintain physician’s surgery logs and navigate Outlook calendars to stay updated at all times. You will schedule surgical procedures, review medical documents with patients, schedule and coordinate insurance details for adults and children in need. You will gather and enter information accurately and quickly about patients, insurance and needs. You will help get them ready for their upcoming surgical procedure. Our patients are hurting, so you are understanding that they may not always be super pleasant, however, they are very grateful. You will work in a place that expects outstanding experiences; we do this by working hard to assume the best and being curious with all around us. You will be naturally curious, friendly and helpful. You are able to work the hours for this position and can work alone and alongside others in the same role in an assigned shift, because, ultimately, we are all here to help patients.
Can I do this job? You must be able to be on the phone or sit at a desk for extended periods of time that may seem unnatural. You must have a high school diploma or GED.
