Job Summary

The Content Writer Financial Services is responsible for creating, curating, and managing high-quality content focused on annuities, retirement planning, and financial products. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the financial services industry, specifically annuities, and a knack for translating complex financial concepts into engaging, easy-to-understand content for a variety of audiences.

Content Development

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
 

  • Develops original content and revises previously published business materials, including product and service guides, direct mail and digital campaign materials, and business-to-business presentation materials.
  • Prepares materials for projects, including planning, outline, and synopsis, ensuring logical flow and cohesive messaging.
  • Writes, edits, and proofreads content, including blogs, white papers, brochures, emails, website pages, social media posts, and educational guides related to annuities.
     
Collaboration & Strategy
 
  • Collaborates with team members and stakeholders on messaging to ensure cohesive branding and strategic alignment.
  • Revises content based on feedback from leaders and peers.
  • Stays updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and competitor content to identify opportunities for new topics.
  • Maintains a content calendar for timely delivery across various platforms.
     
Audience Engagement
 
  • Tailors content for specific target audiences, including financial advisors, policyholders, and prospective clients.
  • Leverages SEO best practices to increase content visibility and drive organic traffic.
     
Other Duties
 
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Education And/Or Experience

Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year College or university; or one (1) year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
 
  • Requires knowledge of Microsoft Office programs as well as excellent written communication skills.
  • Hands-on experience working with project management and workflow tools, such as Monday.com, Asana, or Adobe Workfront, to effectively manage tasks and streamline processes.
  • Knowledge of AP writing style.
  • Strong understanding of annuities and financial products, with the ability to write about complex concepts.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and regulations.
  • Exceptional ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Effective presentation skills and the ability to respond to questions from diverse groups.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers.
  • Capacity to successfully handle pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Strong multitasking skills to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
  • Problem-solving abilities with adaptability to respond to changing priorities.
  • Experience dealing with outside vendors for printing and other special projects.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work cooperatively and successfully with co-employees, customers, and third-party partners.
  • Time management skills to manage both personal workload and coordinate with others
