Balancing it all in the COVID Era - Virtual Elevate
Elevate is a quarterly program of the West Des Moines Chamber, celebrating the power of women. Its intent is to influence closing the leadership and wage gaps by helping to add more women to positions of prominence in business and community.
Join us on August 6th for Balancing it all in the COVID era: Career, Life, Family, Community. Tools, mental health and innovative strategies to consider.
A recent study from Washington University in St. Louis says moms are working dramatically fewer hours than dads amid the coronavirus which can have dramatic long-term consequences for women's labor force participation, promotions and earnings. The study says that moms have reduced their hours at work up to five times more than dads. What this means is this further widens the gender gap in work hours by as much as 50% and will likely lead women to leave the workforce in droves, according to Caitlyn Colllins, a sociologist at Washington University who co-authored the study.
