Chris Cook, CPA, CFA

As one of the owners of Gilbert & Cook, Inc., Chris has lead responsibility for client investment strategy and implementation.
His strength is in portfolio construction and the design process of overall asset allocation. Client education and understanding are key tenets to that investment process.
Prior to joining the Gilbert & Cook team, Chris helped grow and manage a multi-billion dollar asset management firm for more than ten years. Chris earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Northern Iowa and soon after passed the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) exam. He also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation. As a current member of both the Iowa Society of CPAs and the CFA Institute, Chris has pledged to uphold the code of ethics in both disciplines.

President and Co-Founder of BCC Advisers, Steven Jacobs specializes in assisting shareholders and managers identify and accomplish business transfer, corporate finance and business planning objectives. With over 35 years of experience in the financial services industry, structuring and negotiating transactions and advising companies on financial matters, Mr. Jacobs works with business owners in a variety of industries and markets worldwide.
Prior to founding BCC Advisers in 1990, Mr. Jacobs had a 13-year career with Bankers Trust Company providing commercial, real estate, and consumer lending as a Senior Officer, as well as managing the retail banking division. Mr. Jacobs earned his B.S. and M.B.A. from Drake University. He is a licensed Iowa Real Estate Broker and a Registered Representative with StillPoint Capital, LLC, licensed to deal in securities relating to business transfer, capital markets, corporate finance, limited partnerships and private placements.
Julie Kenney
Deputy Secretary
Iowa Department of Agriculture
Julie has been an active advocate for agriculture in the state and across the country through her work with the CommonGround program. She regularly hosts international visitors, media and online influencers on her farm in Story County. She has discussed issues facing Iowa farmers in several national and local media outlets.
Julie was appointed Iowa Deputy Secretary of Agriculture in 2018. As Deputy Secretary, Julie is responsible for the operations of the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship, specifically policy, budget and personnel. Before joining the Department, Julie had been active in the agribusiness industry for nearly 15 years, serving in marketing and communications roles for private industry and state and national associations and checkoff programs.
