Join Casey’s in shaping a better future for our communities, guests, and team members as a Sourcing Manager! Our growing Procurement team is hiring for multiple roles across both direct and indirect categories.
The Sourcing Manager (SM) leads the development and execution of sourcing strategies across assigned spend categories, with a focus on cost savings and supply chain optimization. This role identifies opportunities for efficiency, manages negotiations and contracts, tracks supplier performance, and leverages market intelligence to inform strategic decisions. The SM conducts market analyses, monitors industry trends, and cultivates strong supplier relationships. In partnership with the sourcing team and cross-functional stakeholders, the SM supports the planning and execution of RFx events. As a trusted advisor, the Sourcing Manager provides strategic guidance on supplier management, risk mitigation, and cost optimization.
What You'll Do:
- Lead the development and execution of strategic sourcing initiatives for assigned spend categories, ensuring alignment with departmental and organizational objectives.
- Create and implement negotiation strategies for commercial terms and contract language, resulting in fully executable agreements to ensure best-value vendors and protect company interests.
- Drive cost optimization through competitive RFx events and direct vendor negotiations.
- Conduct in-depth market analysis, monitor industry trends, and leverage market intelligence to uncover cost saving opportunities and gain competitive advantage.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate sourcing strategies into the broader supply chain and business operations.
- Establish and maintain strong partnerships with critical suppliers, proactively mitigating risks related to supply assurance and quality.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to sourcing team members on sourcing strategies, negotiations, and contract management, as needed.
- Engage with suppliers to understand their manufacturing capabilities, inventory strategies, and business trends, and implement initiatives to enhance delivery performance.
- Drive risk mitigation efforts to reduce exposure in areas such as compliance, supply continuity, and product quality.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Compensation:
Starting pay range: $84,900 - $111,400. Actual pay may vary based on Casey’s assessment of the candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities (KSAs), related experience, education, and qualifications. Other factors impacting pay include local prevailing wages and internal equity. This position is eligible for an annual cash bonus based on company performance. Our full salary range for this role does extend beyond the hiring range listed, allowing team members the opportunity to continue to grow within the company.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in operations/supply chain management/business, or equivalent work experience.
- At least six years of experience in sourcing and procurement for direct/indirect categories in the convenience store, restaurant and/or distribution industries.
- Experience working directly with suppliers, to balance total cost-to-serve considerations with commercial objectives, while developing mutually beneficial joint business plans.
- Experience working with multiple partners to resolve exceptions and negotiate optimal solutions that align with business goals.
- Extensive knowledge of a wide range of direct and indirect product and service categories.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions and organizational boundaries.
- Proven ability to build and sustain cross-functional relationships, demonstrating the value-add of collaborative sourcing and driving adoption for best practices.
- Proven negotiation, data analysis, conflict resolution, and collaborative problem-solving.
- Proficient in e-sourcing and contract management tools to support efficient and compliant sourcing processes.
- Strong mathematical and statistical skills to optimize supplier portfolios while balancing cost, risk and performance trade-offs.
- Strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills, with the ability to link issue resolution to long-term process improvements.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
Preferred:
- Experience with convenience store product categories, market trends, and supplier landscapes.
- Certifications in procurement and supply chain management, such as CPIM, CSCP, CPSM, or CIPS.
- Knowledge of enterprise technology tools that support sourcing and procurement execution, analytics, and reporting.
