What You Would Be Doing As a Project Manager
- Be the project leader on the execution of large and/or complex lighting construction jobs.
- Become the resident expert on the job - Review construction documents and research all aspects of the project - what was the original design intent? Are all products that were specified for the job on the construction documents? Communicate with sales and quotation team to address any questions or inconsistencies.
- Create approval documentation.
- Generate submittal documents for approval by the client.
- Review changes/notes received back from the client and communicate changes internally. Address pricing updates resulting from the changes. Resubmit revised approval documents.
- Once approval is obtained, lead preconstruction meetings with the electrical contractor to ensure clarity around the project and accuracy of orders to be placed by the contractor.
- Once orders are placed by the contractor with distributors, partner with customer service team to ensure orders are entered accurately with our manufacturers.
- Coordinate job site lighting start-up activity with MZ's service team using scheduling software.
- Generate regular status documents tracking the progress of the job.
- Close out the job - address any job problems at the construction site, provide warranty information, create and submit operation & maintenance manuals to the contractor and ensure that billing has occurred.
- A strong focus on detail/accuracy.
- Exceptional communication skills and ability to work effectively with a team.
- Project management experience - strong organizational skills.
- Ability to absorb technical knowledge.
- Ability to anticipate issues before they happen and problem solve for solutions.
- A degree or certification in a related field (PMP) is a plus.
- Experience in the construction industry is a plus.
