Equipment & Team Operations Internship

The Menace is looking for a highly motivated individual interested in being a part of the United Soccer League team in Des Moines. The ideal candidate will demonstrate initiative, the ability to multitask, a willingness to learn, and a positive attitude. This is a paid, full-time summer position with a commitment to all training sessions and Menace matches, home and away.

Responsibilities

• Ability to attend all Menace matches, home and away, and training sessions.
• Assist with travel logistics including creating and communicating travel itineraries.
• Manage transport, inventory, and organization of all kits and equipment to and from the training grounds, stadiums, and storage facilities for home and away matches.
• Preparation of locker room prior to team arrival at all home and away matches.
• Manage equipment inventory and maintaining storage organization, tidiness, and cleanliness.
• Ensure practice and match day balls are properly inflated.
• Launder all kits before and after matches.
• Work Menace home matches in May – August. This includes full-day dedication to game day set up and post-game tear down. In game responsibilities vary on the needs of the team and coaching staff.
• Compiling and posting stats for home games.
• Copying and distributing game film in a timely manner.
• As available, assisting with the Des Moines Menace pre-season events such as Open Cup and youth programs including Junior Menace, Just for Girls tournaments, and summer camps.
• Other projects and duties as directed by Menace Soccer Operations Manager or Head Coach.

Qualifications

• A passion for sports and knowledge of the game of soccer is preferred.
• Ability to lift 5/10/25 pounds regularly.
• Ability to be detail oriented, problem solve, and communicate with colleagues in a fast-paced environment.
• Outgoing, enthusiastic, and self-motivated. Growth-focused and interested in continuous learning and improvement, with an openness to feedback.
• Disciplined, with a positive attitude, dedicated to the organization’s goals, mission and values.
• Proven team player who is willing to work long days, nights, and weekends.
