Intern - Project Development

The Project Development Internship provides an opportunity to develop college students that are currently pursuing a bachelor's or master’s degree in engineering, business or a similar field. Interns will be exposed to a variety of activities associated with the evaluation, development, permitting, land rights and construction of energy projects including but not limited to power generation, electric and natural gas projects, electric vehicle infrastructure, energy storage, and other projects as assigned. Interns will have the opportunity to apply knowledge and skills learned in college and demonstrate abilities in the workplace. The position is temporary, nonexempt, and full-time/hourly through the summer.
Responsibilities
Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities
Support the project engineers, developers, analysts, managers and director for the research, planning, evaluation, budgeting, permitting, land rights, procurement, design and construction of project development’s, power generation additions and upgrades, electric vehicle infrastructure, energy storage, decommissioning, environmental, communications, facilities, asset acquisitions, new technology, and other projects.
Evaluates new and proven technologies for the potential implementation into the company’s generation portfolio.
Supports the due diligence process for project acquisition and/or development, equipment procurement and construction by properly identifying the risks and benefits of potential projects and equipment supply, including identifying the resource, environment, real estate, permitting and construction risks and costs.
Prepares and maintains department reports, presentations, project schedules and plans.
Data analysis and entry.
Support community outreach and mailings.

Software skills needed to be used in extracting information from various sources, conducting analysis, building reports and assisting workforce to achieve goals.
Effective verbal and written communication skills. Experience in Microsoft, Excel, PowerPoint and Word.

Qualifications
Must be a college student, sophomore or higher standing, currently enrolled in a bachelor's program in engineering.
Must be able to work full-time May-August 2025.
Must possess a valid driver's license and good driving record. Some travel may be required.
