General Purpose Of The Job

The Application Developer I (New Business Transformation) supports projects to enhance and modernize American Equity’s digital services, which service our internal employees and external partners by providing tools to efficiently perform their roles. The role works with cross-functional teams that help gather requirements, design and develop a New Business workflow platform using low code no code solution to quickly move from legacy systems and ultimately deliver our internal customers an amazing solution. This role provides valuable support to professional staff within organizational functions that align with their field of study and contribute to ongoing projects gaining hands-on experience in a structured, professional environment.

Position sits in Des Moines and will work an onsite schedule**

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

 Gain experience in low code/no code technology.
 Works with stakeholders to understand business requirements that are translated into technical solutions.
 Assists in the design of user interactions.
 Collaborates across time zones via video conferencing and software such as MS Teams, Jira, and GitHub.
 Completes project and support tasks with guidance from mentor and department leader.
 Performs other duties as assigned.

Education And/Or Experience

 Completed Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
 Experience or desire to learn about low code/no code technology.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, PROFESSIONAL DESIGNATIONS: N/A

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

 Effective verbal and written communication skills.
 Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external partners
 Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions.
 Learn quickly when faced with new challenges and situations; analyze success and failures.
 Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite.
 Knowledge in the following areas would be a plus; Usage of Postman, CSS design, Creating Documentation.
 Working knowledge of APIs.
 Experience in cloud infrastructure solutions (such as MongoDB, DataDog) is a plus.
 Good analytical skills with ability to research issues and products.
 Ability to work cooperatively and successfully with employees, customers, and other outside third parties.
