The Iowa Clinic Adds New Specialty

The Iowa Clinic welcomes Christopher Katcherian, MD as part of new specialty offering.

Christopher Katcherian, MD ("Dr. K") is a board-certified Hand, Wrist, and Microsurgeon practicing for over a decade. He specializes in treating the hand, wrist, and soft tissue elbow. He began his path to medicine as an undergraduate at the University of California, Irvine (UCI). He then completed medical school at New York Medical College and surgical residency at Mount Sinai/Cabrini in New York City. Lastly, and most importantly, he completed an Orthopaedic Hand, Wrist, and Microsurgery Fellowship at Columbia University with world-renowned surgeons as his mentors.

After practicing in California, Dr. Katcherian decided to relocate to the Midwest with his family. With great excitement, he joined The Iowa Clinic because of its innovative practice model that prioritizes patient care and physician satisfaction. Dr. Katcherian is passionate about the field of Hand Surgery because of the complex and varied anatomy of the hand and wrist. This allows him to use his skill set in various surgical specialties — orthopaedics, plastics, minimally invasive surgery, vascular, and neurosurgery. Dr. Katcherian strives to provide professional care in a warm environment, ensuring that each patient is treated with respect and kindness. He treats the simple to complex and traumatic to elective.

Outside of work, Dr. Katcherian enjoys spending time with his wife and two children, reading, traveling, and searching for the best new restaurants. He also has a strong interest in mission work to help serve populations who don't have adequate access to healthcare.
