Join the WDM Chamber for one of our most exciting Construct Iowa events to date as we spotlight the transformational 515 Walnut Tower — the largest residential project ever built in downtown Des Moines and the most significant change to the downtown skyline since 801 Grand was completed in 1991.
This $148 million, game-changing development will bring 390 new residential units to the heart of downtown, along with a fitness center, coffee shop, rooftop terrace, and incredible new energy to the city’s core. Once complete in 2027, the project is expected to have an assessed value of more than $69.5 million.
Presented by Aureon, this special event will take place June 26 from 3:00–5:00 PM at Ricochet Lounge, located just steps from the tower at 400 Locust Street.
Guests will hear more about this landmark project and have the opportunity to sign up for limited hard hat tours of the tower while it is still under construction. Tours are limited to 25 people per tour and will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis.

Tour Disclaimer & Safety Information:
This event will feature a brief presentation about the 515 Walnut Tower, followed by limited, guided tours of the tower. Tours will be offered in groups of 25, with two groups touring at the same time using separate elevators and guides. Each tour will take approximately 35 minutes, with a total of six tours available.
If you plan to participate in a tour, please wear sturdy, closed-toed shoes. Protective equipment will be provided, including hard hats and bright safety vests.
Please note: Tour participants will ride a construction elevator, known as a buck hoist, which will travel up several floors. This ride may feel jumpy and may not be smooth. Those who are uncomfortable with heights, enclosed construction elevators, or who have health conditions that could be impacted by this experience should carefully consider whether the tour is appropriate for them.
