Investor Member Social with Private Art Tours at Wellabe
You and your spouse are invited to join fellow Investor Members of the West Des Moines Chamber for an extraordinary event inside Wellabe's iconic headquarters, home to one of the Midwest's most remarkable corporate art collections.
This exclusive experience begins with a networking reception from 4 to 6 p.m., including food, beverages, and live music. Art tours will be available but limited to 20 people per tour at 4:30 p.m. and 5:15 p.m.
Wellabe’s art collection includes nearly 400 pieces made up of paintings, prints, and sculptures by artists from around the world. Watson Powell Jr. envisioned designing an office space that sparks creativity and productivity, with art being key to that vision. The downtown Des Moines building, completed in 1965, is the most important piece of art in the collection. Designed by Gordon Bunshaft of the world-renowned architectural firm Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, it was awarded the 1967 American Institute of Architects Honor Award. After 50 years, it needed updated mechanical systems and underwent an extensive historic renovation, after which it was awarded the AIA's Honor Award for a second time.
This is a rare opportunity to step inside a collection that is seldom open to the public while connecting with fellow Chamber investors in an unforgettable setting.
