WEST DES MONES, IA (JANUARY 21) – The West Des Moines Leadership Academy (WDM Leadership Academy), a program of the West Des Moines Chamber of Commerce, is proud to announce the opening of applications for the 2025-26 program. The West Des Moines Leadership program is designed to help aspiring leaders develop their leadership skills and capabilities to make a positive impact on the community.

The WDM Leadership Academy is an intensive nine-month program that provides participants with practical training, hands-on experience, and access to industry experts. The program includes modules on leadership styles, team building, communication, decision-making, and more. Participants will also influence the future of West Des Moines through strategic leadership development and workforce retention.

“We are excited to continue empowering emerging leaders through this transformative program,” said Kara Matheson, VP of Workforce Development and Culture. “The Leadership Academy not only equips participants with the tools they need to lead, but it also fosters deep connections that extend beyond the classroom. Each year, we see individuals push boundaries, collaborate in new ways, and make lasting contributions to our community. We are thrilled to invite a new cohort of leaders to shape the future of West Des Moines.” The deadline to submit applications is Friday, April 18–learn more on the Chamber’s website.
