Des Moines University to Host Virtual Pre-Health Summit for High Schoolers
WEST DES MOINES, IA (08/27/2025) Des Moines University Medicine and Health Sciences is inviting high school students to a free virtual Pre-Health Summit on Saturday, Oct. 25, 2025, from 9 a.m. to noon. The event is designed for students who are interested in exploring careers in health care.
The Pre-Health Summit, coordinated by DMU's admissions team, will give students a preview of their future by providing insights into medicine and health sciences. Attendees will engage with current DMU students in interactive sessions and discussions with a goal to inspire the next generation of health professionals and provide them with the knowledge and tools they need to succeed.
The summit will help participants gain clarity on their educational journey from high school to medical school and learn how to make informed decisions about their health care aspirations.
"We are thrilled to offer this exceptional opportunity for high school students to connect with our current DMU students," says Molly Moeller, senior director of admissions and recruitment at DMU. "As the need for health care professionals continues to rise, it is crucial that we ensure students have the resources they need to explore their interests and prepare for a successful journey from high school to medical school if that's a path they choose."
Space in the 2025 Pre-Health Summit is still available, and interested students can register at dmu.edu/admission/student-pathways/#HS-Summit.
