Iowa Realty Names Dakotah Reed General Manager

Iowa Realty has named Dakotah Reed General Manager, elevating a longtime company leader with more than a decade of experience in residential real estate brokerage management and industry leadership.

Reed joined Iowa Realty in 2016 as a real estate agent in the Des Moines area after beginning his career three years earlier in Southeast Iowa, where he stepped into a broker role early in his career. In 2017, he moved into an associate management role while continuing to run his own real estate business. 

Reed is also an active leader in the Iowa real estate industry. He serves as Chair of the Iowa Real Estate Commission, a governor-appointed position, and is completing his second term on the Commission. He also serves as Second Vice President of the Des Moines Area Association of REALTORS®. Through those roles, Reed has developed extensive experience in Iowa real estate regulation, professional standards, brokerage operations, agent development and housing market issues affecting communities across the state.

Iowa Realty was founded in Des Moines in 1952 and has served Iowa buyers, sellers and real estate professionals for more than seven decades. Reed's appointment comes as the company approaches its 75th anniversary and looks to build on its longstanding reputation as the leader in real estate across the state of Iowa. 

A native of Southeast Iowa, Reed grew up in an entrepreneurial family and spent much of his early working life helping with his parents' family business. He and his wife are raising two children and enjoy boating and traveling together.
