WEST DES MOINES CHAMBER LAUNCHES WEST YP APP & VYP PROGRAM

WEST DES MONES, IA (FEBRUARY 18, 2025) – The West Des Moines Chamber of Commerce (WDM Chamber) is excited to announce the launch of the West YP App, a groundbreaking tool designed to revolutionize the way young professionals connect, learn, and grow. Available exclusively to members of the West YP program, this app is a reimagined experience tailored for Central Iowa’s next generation of leaders.

West YP is the young professional program powered by the WDM Chamber that launched in 2021 and has since become the largest of its kind in the state. There are monthly events rotating between socials and professional development opportunities, with programming geared towards emerging leaders aged 21 – 39.

This new innovation provides members with streamlined access to events, resources, and connections that empower professional growth and community engagement. It’s more than an app—it’s a platform built to expand networks, build skills, and foster meaningful relationships.

In addition to the launch, the WDM Chamber has unveiled the VYP Program, a “VIP” style initiative to celebrate and uplift outstanding young professionals. Through the VYP Program, members will have the chance to be recognized, rewarded, and spotlighted for their contributions and achievements throughout the year.

“These new offerings highlight our commitment to supporting and celebrating young professionals in Iowa,” said Kara Matheson, VP of workforce development and culture. “West YP is already a vibrant community with hundreds of young professionals across the metro, and these new initiatives ensure young leaders have the latest and greatest tools and recognition they deserve.”
