West Des Moines Chamber of Commerce Announces 100 Categories for 5th Annual Best of the West Awards

WEST DES MOINES, IA (September 10, 2024) – The West Des Moines Chamber of Commerce (WDM Chamber) has announced 100 categories for the annual Best of the West Awards. The Best of the West Awards is a West Des Moines-focused, community vote contest now featuring 100 categories. The award ceremony is set to take place on December 3, 2024, at the Rewind Hotel in West Des Moines.

The WDM Chamber celebrated 50 award winners in previous years during the ceremony. In 2024, to mark its 100th anniversary, the WDM Chamber expanded to 100 categories, allowing for a broader celebration of various industries and inviting more people to celebrate their community's accomplishments over the years.

“Celebrating West Des Moines and its community is essential because it highlights the achievements and dedication of local businesses, organizations, and leaders who contribute to the area's growth and vibrancy,” said Katherine Harrington, president and CEO of the WDM Chamber. “Recognizing these efforts fosters a sense of pride, unity, and continued commitment to making the city a better place to live and work. By coming together to celebrate, we not only honor these accomplishments but also inspire future generations to invest in the community’s success and well-being.”

Voting will be open from October 1 and ends October 31 at 11:59 p.m. Participants can vote for their favorite people, places, and things once per day. Entries must either be affiliated as members of the WDM Chamber or reside/be located in West Des Moines. A celebration to recognize all winners will take place on December 3, at the Rewind Hotel in West Des Moines. Following the voting period, winners will be announced on November 4. All winners will receive a specialty award featuring the Best of the West logo and exclusive bragging rights for the year as one of West Des Moines’ best.

Additionally, a portion of all sponsorship proceeds from the Best of the West Awards will directly support the West Des Moines Chamber of Commerce Foundation. The Best of the West Awards is also supported by silver sponsor, The Iowa Clinic.
