West Des Moines Chamber of Commerce Unveils Theme and Date for 2027 Annual Dinner

WEST DES MOINES, IA (August 11, 2026) – The West Des Moines Chamber of Commerce (WDM Chamber) has announced the date, location, and theme for its 2027 Annual Dinner. The celebration will take place on Thursday, February 25, at The Meridian in West Des Moines. This year’s theme, “Studio 515,” will bring the energy and spirit of the disco era to life with a vibrant evening of connection, celebration, and community. Guests are encouraged to embrace the theme and arrive in their best disco and 1970s-inspired attire.
 
“The continued momentum of the WDM Chamber reflects the incredible energy and success of our entire region,” said Katherine Harrington, President and CEO of the WDM Chamber. “Together, our members, leaders, and community partners are creating new opportunities, strengthening connections, and building an even brighter future for West Des Moines and the Greater Des Moines region. The West Des Moines Chamber of Commerce will continue its tradition of honoring the Citizen of the Year and Emerging Citizen of the Year during the annual celebration. At the 2026 Annual Dinner, Dan Houston was recognized as the 2026 Citizen of the Year, and Kara Matheson was named the 2026 Emerging Citizen of the Year.
 
First presented to Jacob Repp at the 2026 Annual Dinner, the Dan Houston West YP Leader of the Year Award will once again recognize an outstanding young professional who demonstrates exceptional leadership, service, and community impact across the Greater Des Moines region. Established through a legacy partnership with former Principal Financial Group President and CEO Dan Houston, the annual award honors emerging leaders who go above and beyond to strengthen our workforce, advance civic engagement, and shape the future of our community.
