Whitfield & Eddy Law announces Anna Mallen and Bryn E. Hazelwonder as new member attorneys effective January 1, 2026.

Anna Mallen’s practice is focused on civil litigation matters in a variety of areas, including labor and employment, construction, and business litigation and advising. Anna worked for the firm as a law clerk while attending Drake University Law School. During that time she was an Honors Judicial Extern for Chief Justice Mark Cady at the Iowa Supreme Court. Anna graduated magna cum laude from Wartburg College in 2016 and received her J.D., with highest honors from Drake University Law School in 2019. Anna has been recognized by Best Lawyers in America: Ones to Watch (2023 – 2026) for Commercial Litigation, Litigation – Construction, and Litigation – Labor and Employment. She has also been selected for inclusion in the Great Plains Super Lawyers Rising Stars (2023 – 2025) in the area of Employment Litigation: Defense.

Bryn Hazelwonder’s practice is focused on litigation matters in a variety of areas, including trucking and transportation, personal injury, products liability, vaccine injury, and commercial and business litigation. Bryn worked for the firm as a law clerk while attending the University of Iowa College of Law and was hired as an associate attorney in 2019. Bryn graduated summa cum laude from Luther College in 2016, where she received her B.A. in Spanish Linguistics and English. In 2019, Bryn received her J.D. with distinction from the University of Iowa College of Law. Bryn has been recognized by Best Lawyers in America: Ones to Watch (2024 – 2026) for Commercial Litigation, Product Liability Litigation – Defendants, and Transportation Law.

In 2025, Bryn was presented the Edward F. Seitzinger Award at the Iowa Defense Counsel Association Annual Meeting and Seminar in Des Moines, Iowa. She is a current member of the IDCA Board of Directors and was recognized for exceptional contributions and dedication to IDCA. The Award is presented each year to the IDCA Board Member who contributed the most to IDCA during the year. It is considered IDCA’s most prestigious award.
