City of West Des Moines and West Des Moines Chamber Release Findings from 2025 Business Survey

WEST DES MOINES, IA (September 16, 2025) – The West Des Moines Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with the City of West Des Moines, has released the results of its 2025 Business Survey, conducted in May to better understand the needs, challenges, and opportunities facing the local business community.

The survey gathered input from businesses and the community across the region. Responses will help shape future policies, programs, and initiatives designed to support economic growth, enhance city services, and improve the overall business climate in West Des Moines.

“This survey is an incredibly valuable tool that gives us real-time feedback directly from the business community,” said Mayor Russ Trimble. “It helps us understand their challenges, identify opportunities, and prioritize actions that will make West Des Moines an even better place to grow a business. We’re grateful to everyone who took the time to participate—and we’re committed to listening, learning, and leading together to shape a strong future for our city.”

Key themes from the survey included workforce challenges, infrastructure needs, and opportunities to strengthen partnerships between businesses and local government. The findings will be used to guide collaborative strategies that foster innovation, investment, and quality of life throughout the city and community.
