The Credit Analyst also conducts in-depth reviews of financial statements, tax returns, and other documents to determine applicants' financial condition, cash flow, credit history, and debt serviceability. What you will do:

  • Determine creditworthiness and risk by analyzing financial statements and credit reports of loan applicants
  • Review loan applications and supporting documentation
  • Prepare loan write-ups summarizing credit analyses and recommending approval or denial of loan requests
  • Present credit analysis findings and make recommendations for action
  • Monitor existing loan portfolios and borrowers' financial condition
  • Identify early signs of loan deterioration and risk downgrades and recommend action
  • Ensure lending activities comply with bank credit policy and lending regulations
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients 
  • Prepare reports for senior management and board on lending activities, portfolio quality, and credit trends
  • Assess credit policy and procedures and recommend improvements
  • Maintain knowledge of lending markets, industry trends, and economic conditions affecting clients
  • Answer client questions about active loans
  • Process in-house loans
  • Calculate debt service coverage ratios, loan-to-value ratios, and other financial ratios used in credit analysis
  • Prepare early disclosure and closing documentation, extensions, and modifications
  • Obtain necessary documentation from clients and accountants

What you need to be successful:

  • Knowledge of bank lending operations and processing
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Strong skills in computer terminal and personal computer operation
  • Advanced math skills
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills 
  • Ability to deal with complex problems involving multiple facets and variables in non-standardized situations
  • Ability to work with no supervision 
  • Current driver's license and a vehicle with appropriate insurance coverage
