Description

We are looking for a skilled Full Charge Bookkeeper to join our team on a contract basis. This position is based in West Des Moines, Iowa, and offers an exceptional opportunity for an experienced accounting specialist eager to grow their career. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in QuickBooks Desktop, a solid foundation in accounting principles, and a collaborative approach to problem-solving.

Responsibilities
 

  • Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and month-end reconciliation processes.
  • Assist with the transition from Sage50 to QuickBooks Desktop, including invoicing, data entry, and ensuring accuracy during double-posting phases.
  • Collaborate closely with senior leadership and team members to ensure seamless communication and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Perform detailed financial analyses, such as cash flow management and annual budgeting, to support decision-making processes.
  • Train alongside senior staff to learn established accounting workflows and take on increasing responsibilities.
  • Execute triple reconciliations for transactions to maintain accuracy and compliance.
  • Maintain and update computerized accounting systems to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
  • Provide proactive solutions to accounting challenges, demonstrating initiative and a commitment to growth.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations while handling sensitive financial data.

     
Requirements
 
  • Minimum of 3-4 years of experience as a Full Charge Bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop is essential; familiarity with Sage50 is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial analysis techniques.
  • Expertise in computerized accounting systems and tools like ADP, Great Plains, and Microsoft Excel.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and month-end close processes.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams, including senior leadership.
  • Problem-solving mindset with a willingness to learn and take on additional responsibilities.
  • Ability to adapt to new systems and processes with attention to detail and accuracy.
