Controller
Our client seeks an experienced Controller to oversee the Accounting Team!
This is a full-time, direct hire position where you will earn up to $150,000/year, based on your experience. You will work daytime hours Monday-Friday. 100% onsite.
Some of your responsibilities as Controller include coordinating and completing all accounting operational functions as well as:
- Managing all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems
- Ensuring compliance
- Establishing financial and operating benchmarks, budgets, program monitoring, and reporting standards on a regular basis in conjunction with the CEO
- Implementing consistent accounting policies, practices, and procedures to uphold legal standards
- Preparing financial statements using QuickBooks
- Preparing monthly bank compliance covenants and borrowing base
- Analyzing sales and expenses to determine cash flow and budgetary goals
- Providing financial updates to Senior Management
- Preparing 1099 and W2 statements
- Paying sales tax, federal excise tax, payroll tax, and IFTA filings for multiple states
- Coordinating annual CPA review, bank renewal, insurance renewal, 401K plan, health, dental and vision insurance renewals
- Processing multi-state payroll and expense statements
- Completing monthly commissions statements and processing payments
- Reconciling bank accounts, credit card accounts, and loan balances
- Preparing for renewals for business licenses
- Maximizing protection of company assets, policies, procedures and workflow
- Assessing operations, offering recommendations for improvement and implementing new processes
- Other duties as assigned
To qualify for the Controller position, you must have a Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, or related field plus 5+ years’ experience, as well as:
- Bachelor’s Degree in business, accounting, or related field
- 5+ years’ experience in a senior level accounting or finance role
- Strong inventory management and controls background
- Solid understanding of economic and banking processes
- Excellent understanding of QuickBooks
- Working knowledge of finance law and regulatory standards (GAAP)
- Knowledge of tax compliance regulations and reporting
- Financial project management history preferred
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
