Tax Accountant
One of our clients is seeking a Tax Accountant to join their team.
This is a full time, direct hire opportunity where you will earn up to $130,000 per year based on your experience. Plus enjoy an excellent benefits package!
Some of your responsibilities as Tax Accountant include:
- Accurate and timely preparation of all clients’ tax returns
- Supervising Tax Preparers
- Participating in the Firm mentoring program
- Delegating and managing tax research projects
- Delegating and managing governmental tax examinations
- Delegating tax returns to various Tax Preparers
- Ensuring accurate, complete and timely preparation of all client’s tax returns
- Acting as a resource for staff on specific tax issues and/or questions
- Performing technical tax reviews and approvals of any complexity
- Participating in client meetings and tax planning efforts
- Assisting the Auditing and Accounting department with larger clients
- Assuming tax responsibility for more complex business returns
- Assuming full responsibility for larger tax returns
- Maintaining files of correspondence and other records
- Maintaining knowledge of general economic and political trends
- Participating in career development programs
- Occasional travel
- Occasional overtime work required
- Miscellaneous duties as assigned
To qualify, you must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. As well as the following:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting (Master’s degree in taxation preferred)
- 7+ years’ experience in public accounting
- 2+ years’ experience representing clients
- Advanced technical skills in tax and accounting areas
- 1+ year experience supervising and directing work of Tax Preparers
- Proven progression in tax return complexity, scope and research
- Valid and current CPA license
- 40+ hours of yearly continuing education
- American Institute of CPAs member
- Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to multi-task
- Strong organizational skills
