Sr. Project Manager
Our client seeks a Sr. Project Manager to lead multiple complex projects for operations.
The Sr. Project Manager position is a full-time, contract opportunity where you will earn up to $75.00 per hour, depending on your experience. You will work daytime hours Monday-Friday (4 days in office and 1 day remote).
Some of your responsibilities as Sr. Project Manager include:
- Leading multiple large, complex projects with accelerated timelines
- Managing the planning and delivery of projects through a gated process
- Problem solving
- Understanding and managing project interdependencies
- Facilitating the advancement of multiple parallel work streams
- Managing project resource demand and allocations
- Identifying and mitigating risks
- Participating in the PM community of practice
- Serving as coach for other PM’s if needed
- Assisting with project steering group preparation and prioritization
- Stage gate planning and material preparation
- Estimating and forecasting
- Building portfolio epics and milestones for delivery
- Ensuring process changes are followed
- Demonstrating the drivers of project management effectiveness
- Aligning project priorities
- Other duties as assigned
To qualify for the Sr. Project Manager position, you must have a Bachelor’s degree as well as:
- 7+ years of progressive responsibility and PM success
- Including 2+ years of PM experience in a cross functional Agile environment
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent technical experience required
- Previous insurance or financial services experience preferred
- Experience with large system implementations and/or system upgrades preferred
- Strong MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project, etc.)
- Understanding of PM and SDLC processes with specific experience managing projects in Agile, Waterfall or blended methodologies
- Atlassian Jira application experience preferred
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
